With the front coming in around mid day, low tide at 6 am at the point, NE wind at 20, and solid reports from the Rips this week, we decided to give the Rips a shot since we knew it would be protected from the wind. We bucktailed every Rip Prissy Wicks had to offer, and had better then average water clarity and conditions, but no bites. There were a few charter boats out there drifting with live baits but they had no action either. We fished in the snow until about 11:30 when we were convinced no fish were around and we knew worse weather was coming. Disappointed with the lack of action the DE Bay has delivered on striped bass this season.
