Well we prefished the past two days and the bite here in Cat is way off. The wind has been ESE at 10-20 the past two days and today is the full moon. Yesterday (3/15) we fished for about 5 hours and trolled the edge for wahoo from Devils Point all of the way out to Columbus Point with nothing. Today we had two wahoos at Columbus but the sharks are so bad right now they are chiming anything you get on like they are a tuna. You really have no shot. Hopefully things will hear up after this front moves through.

Well we are just about set to get into some wahoos and dolphin hopefully. A few final tasks left to get done. Rods and reels are ready and spoiled up. Rigs are set, boat waxed, maintenance done, etc etc. The marina seems to have a pet manatee hanging out this year too along with the sting rays that are always cruising by the boat. Pretty wild.
After a slightly wet ride from Nassau with winds out of the SSE making a bit of a chop, we arrived in Cat Island. Home sweet home for the next 10-11 weeks. Cat Island is a pretty special place. We were able to do a lot during the move, but still lots to do to get the boat ready. Hopefully lots of fishing action to come, so stay tuned…
Well we made it to Nassau and are laid up for the night at Hurricane Hole Marina. Uneventful 160 mile crossing, and that’s exactly what we like when we are moving a boat. Flat calm the whole ride so we were able to wash the boat down, clean up inside, and rig up a bunch of of stuff to get ready for 2 months of fishing. We just took a walk through Atlantis and it really is a pretty amazing place. They paid a lot of attention to detail and the yachts in the marina are so awesome to see. Tomorrow morning we leave for Cat Island which will be home sweet home for awhile. Looking forward to being there again!
Sunday I will be headed to FL to meet up with Captain Joe Trainor and the 54′ Bertram OverUnder to prep the boat and get ready to make the move over the Cat Island which will be home for the next 2-3 months. I am stoked, and looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces fishing with us and also some new ones. Here is the video edit from last year in the Bahamas…Be sure to WATCH IN HD!
