Things have been hectic here so my reports have been short and lacking detail, sorry, but I am trying to keep up.
Today (5/4) we had cloudy weather all day with a wind out of the West. We managed to pick up about 8-9 Mahi ranging from 15-20 pounds. We pounded the edge hard looking for billfish and did get an awesome teaser bite from a small blue. The pitch was in place, but the blue never switched off and I watched it fade away to the depths from the helm – heartbreaker. At the end of the day we had a sail come in and take a peek at things but no bite.
Yesterday (5/3) we were able to scrounge up a white marlin and some solid action on dolphin. We released a lot of dolphin! Fun day of fishing. Winds were around 10-15 out of the SE and it was a beautiful sunny day with temps in the 80s.
