Today went much smoother. The New Moon is tonight and I am hoping this moon phase will kick things into gear. We started about 4 miles north of the hump and found a rip line with a color change of green water and blue water. We started off getting a great blue marlin bite on the teaser and he switched off to the pitch bait clean. Bill was on for his first ever blue and after a great display of jumps, he got the release on his first blue!
We got back up on the troll and about and hour later we picked a sail off of the long rigger on the upsea tack and Todd got a clean release. We worked the area hard and throughout the day we would get a sailfish bite here and there but we just couldn’t get hooks in em unfortunately. We ended the day with a Mahi, a blue, and 1/4 on sailfish. Fun day and good action. Hopefully this is the beginning of a great week of fishing.
