First Sails and Mahi

Today we had a stiff 15-20 knot wind out of the SE again with overcast skies.  the flat light made it tough to see the bites.  We got into some mahi early on but unfortunately we had some sea sick crew we had to take back to the dock.  We slipped back out in the afternoon and ended up getting 2/3 sails hooked up early on but lost one during the fight.  We did get a release on a little one which was Phillip’s first sailfish – CONGRATS!!!.  We managed to pick at some more mahi and even lucked out on a little wahoo that ate the circle hook just right.  Mid afternoon the bite was slow but we ended strong with a really nice sailfish for Pete that ate a naked ballyhoo on the long rigger and also plucked another mahi.  All in all, another fun day…
