7/15 tough one in the crowd

Today we fished Masseys on the 55′ Gwaltney Low Profile and got there around 430am. We got setup and hooked into a tuna on a free floater chunk of butterfish fairly early on 30# fluoro leader. There were already and Ron of boats right on top of us and our fish took a nice run into another boat and goodbye. About an hour later we got a bite on a bait in the kite and we ended up landing this bluefin tuna that measured 46 inches. The crowd factor was over 100 boats and rediculous making it tough for tuna fishing. Around 11 am we got a bite on a live bait on the bottom and after a little while he got himself snagged on something on the bottom. I have to say this is a first for me, but I have heard of a lot of lost anchor and gear here the past few weeks that I’m not very surprised. We tried a drift north of Masseys at the end of our day but no success. Tough one for sure today…
