With spotty internet and honestly very little time to even attempt to keep up with posting on the daily here in Isla, I figured I would do one big wrap up. We finished up our last day of fishing here. What an awesome place to be from the sail fishing to the island itself. I had a lot of fun with everyone who came down. The fishing was definitely off pace this year as far as sail fishing goes, but we still managed to scratch out some bites and catch a few here and there. Every once in awhile someone would find a pile of fish and rack up the releases but overall it has been a tough season. I have a feeling the sails will just be a little late this year and show up when we leave, BUT regardless, it was a great first season and we are looking forward to coming back again next year!

Today we saw some better action. We had a tough break right away pulling hooks on all three fish out of a triple header, ouch! We went on to pick up two singles then the bite dried up where we were. Luckily later in the day after covering some ground and coming up empty we got a call from a friend and made a quick move. It paid off and we had 5 bites in a hour and a half and raised 3 others. We only managed to release one more. It looked promising today with plenty of bait and a few bird packs on sails throughout the day.
Well, it’s still tough fishing lately. The past two days there was a pretty good bite about 45 miles north so we took the chance and went for it today. Shut down… 1/1 on sails. Top boat for the tournament today was 2 fish. Happy today wasn’t a tournament day for us. Hopefully they will be butting good behind Exile65 tomorrow!
Well, unfortunately. It too much to report from me today. Beautiful weather and fairly calm today. We started the morning with two Sailfish bites but just couldn’t keep the hook in one and missed the other. We marked some bait and it was looking promising but it just didn’t develop today. The Sailfish decided to take a day off. It looks like a little cold front may be moving in overnight so hopefully that will turn the fish on for tomorrow!
