Today we ran out and started at Devils Point in pretty blue 78.5 degree water with a 10-15 knot SE wind and sunny skies. We worked the edge for awhile but no action all morning until we made it to the Caves where we picked up 1/2 Sailfish on a double header on the Downsea Blue Party Hat and got a clean release. We turned around and were jumped by mahi and then the action went quiet again.
We trolled out towards Columbus Point and had the classic white marlin teaser bite with my fish taco in hand. I dropped my fish taco to pull the teaser away butnit was too late, haha. I ended up with no white marlin and a fish taco all over the place. After that we did get a double header of Sailfish but pulled the hook on one and released the other. We did pick at a couple more mahi but not much action from them. Not a bad day…
