Well on 5/6 we had all the mahi could have wanted. It was nonstop action yesterday again and overall a beautiful and calm day on the water. Water temps were in the upper 79 degree range. We also managed to slip two yellowfins past the Sharks in the 20 pound range which was a great bonus.
5/7 we had another flat clam a beautiful day but with some westerly light winds so overall action was slow. Water temps dropped to 78 degrees. We had a few tunas sharked, boxes two mahi, released a white and ended the day deep dropping and luckily boxing a dozen snappers before the sharks tore us apart…
Hope everyone is having margeritas somewhere right now. Great day of fishing! Tons of mahi, one White Marlin release and lost a blue marlin 15′ from the release but not before we got a great show. Kinda bittersweet. Another fun day here in Cat. Winds were SE at 20 all day but the fish where chewing for sure!
We have still been fishing every day. The mahi action has remained crazy hot. Action almost all day. We have been getting a Billfish bite or two everyday as well but that has still been a little on the slow side which we feel is because the mahi are so think. Winds have been relentless out of the ESE at 15-30 on the daily. It looks like we will have a little break from it tomorrow. Hopefully the Billfish cooperate. Time to start racking up some releases..!!
