The weather was back to normal today with some sunshine and Easterly winds around 12-16 knots. Right away we got a double header of mahi and then had a white marlin up on the teaser but we weren’t able to connect on that one. Not long after we hooked into some more mahi and released a Sailfish. We had one more shot as a white marlin but could not come right and some more mahi. After lunchtime the fishing went quiet and that was the day. Hopefully the trend continues and the fishing picks up!

The wind was blowing pretty good out of the ENE at 20-25 today but we were still able to get out fishing. The sargassum grass was scattered and all over the place today making it very difficult to fish. On top of that fishing was slowwww. We had some tunas get sharked and put one mahi in the boat. Tough day.
Internet here has been difficult to come by but I figured better late then never on this post.
We managed to pull it together on the last day of the Hang Em High Meat Tournament on Exile 65 and get a tournament win for the second year in a row of the Hang Em High. We ran to San Sal despite the slow fishing we had there on Day 1 because we knew we needed a decent tuna and a solid wahoo. We ended up with a 60# wahoo and a 19# yellowfin to add to our 34.5# mahi to give us enough total pounds to win! Awesome feeling for sure!
Today was Day 2 of the Hang Em High Meat Tournament. We stuck it out in Cat Island today and pounded it out hoping for something to come together and it did, all in 45 minutes of fishing. We put 5 wahoo in the box (unfortunately all wee hoos), and a couple mahi, one of which went 34.5 lbs and for now is holding first place in the dolphin category. Final day tomorrow.
Today was day 1 of the Hang Em High meat tournament in Hawks Nest Marina Cat Island. We had flat calm seas so we made the run to San Salvador hoping to cash in on a big wahoo. Fishing was super slow overall and even worse for us. We caught half a tuna and that was our day.
Today we right right back to it wahoo fishing. The morning was dead! Very slow fishing and not really any life at all. We worked the ridge and the hump hard!
In the afternoon the blackfins started popping up on the surface here and there. Finally we came tight on two wahoo. We pulled the Hook on one but landed the other one which was a nice 60-70 pound wahoo. Shortly after we hooked into and landed a nice 35 pound yellowfin and called it a day shortly after. Flat calm day, beautiful and sunny!
Today the fishing turned on great. We boated 7 wahoos and had some tough luck on a few others but fun day. Biggest going 65 pounds. Even a bonus yellowfin in the mix. Fun day with lots of action! 78.5 degree pretty blue water! Another day in paradise on Exile65.
Another day in paradise here. The fishing has been tough but we continue to pick away here and there. 1 50# wahoo and 3 mahi today. Not a whole lot to it but still looking hard for the 100 pounder that San Salvador produces!
Only time for a Quick Report. Beautiful day on the water today but slower fishing. Barracudas were epic, haha. Tearing up baits and monsters at that. Lost a couple of tuna due to sharks and a solid wahoo at the end of the day. All was looking great and then shared! Ouch. Tough one today.
We got back out in the beautiful blue 79 degree water here in San Salvador Bahamas with a stiff SW wind all day. It was a slow start and we tried to grab a few Blackfin tuna but were only able to get one in the boat. Shortly after we had a white marlin bite that didn’t connect and the mid day doldrums started to set in. Joe went inside to make lunch and wham! That right flat line with a naked mullet went screaming. It was the right one. The boys out in work getting the fish to the boat and Joe wired it to the gaff shot. Over the rail came a nice 80 pound wahoo!!!! Why you come to San Salvador. The bite was slow overall today with just some barracudas keeping things honest, but thank goodness for a nice wahoo! Looking for an epic day tomorrow!
