13 sure was the number today. I would say even the wind was about 13 knots out of the NE as well. Thank goodness 13 was not the number of feet tall the waves were. Beautiful sunny day and a little chop.
We started our day with some tough luck getting 9 bites but only coming tight on half and boxing 3 decent yellowfins. They the bite shit down a bit and turned into a pick, and we weren’t picking. We made a few adjustments to the spread and started hunting a bit. With a little help from a friend, we got into the pick ourselves and picked away at small to medium size yellowfins ending our day boxing 13 tuna and releasing a white marlin. We only had two bites on spreader bars today and all the others on Islander Trackers and Fish Downsea Tuna Flares with smaller ballyhoo. Another fun day on Exile with an awesome group of guys!
