We finished off our last trip of the month on a high note. We started early in the morning looking for a wahoo and after searching for a little less then an hour we got a screaming run on the right long and watched a nice wahoo screaming across the surface. Game on! Him did great getting it to the boat and Matthew sunk the gaff into the nice 50# class wahoo!
Shortly after that we had a white marlin that we got a release on. Good start, but the water looked bad and no life or bait so we kept pushing off looking for better conditions. After a couple hours searching and 1 more white marlin bite we got into a slow and steady pick of white marlin action on a slight color change and a little bit of bait in 500 fathoms.
We went on to go 5/9 for the day on white marlin. Jim, Dana, and Paul got their first white marlin releases as well! Fun day of fishing! I’m looking forward to checking out the troll pro footage that was on the Downsea Blue Shad dredge! Had quite a few bites behind it!
