Well today was our last trip in Grenada on Exile 65. We had a pair of newlyweds on their honeymoon and we wanted to get them some action, not only for them, but for ourselves to end on a high not here.
We aimed for wahoo in the am, but the barracudas were fierce and we weren’t able to scrounge up any wahoo bites.
We got to billfishing and nearly right away, a very very nice blue cane hard on the teaser then as quickly as she arrived, she faded. BUMMER. I made a few more passes and we picked up a sailfish release. Then soon after a double header and the couple had their first billfish ever. Woohoo.
Mid day doldrums set in until we found some birds and WHAM! Massive yellowfin bite and game on. After 45 minutes the yellowfin was in. The boat and Jackson had his personal best and that concluded our trip. What a way to end it!
