We slipped out for an afternoon trip on Picante in hopes of getting some billfish action and hopefully some yellowfin bites closer to dark. We started the day fishing around Klein Curacao and raised a small blue fairly early that didn’t eat. Not the way we wanted to start the day. We kept working the area and then a 250# Blue Marlin some in hot on the right flat line Fish Downsea Chugger rigged on a flying fish. The Blue inhaled it and game on for Donny’s first blue. We chased the fish hard downsea for about 20-25 minutes before we finally got the release on 30# tackle. Fun fish. We pounded it out the last hour of daylight that was left hoping the yellowfins would show up but they played hooky.
