We started our long run offshore this am in beautiful flat calm weather. Always a treat! We got our lines in around grey light and had a bite on the right short spreader bar but that never came tight. We were on the edge of a 60-62 degree temperature break in green water with a fair amount of boats in the area. We picked away at some bites but had some bad luck and only managed to box one under bluefin tuna on a purple spreader bar.
The bite was scattered so I decided to make a move which paid off with a nicer under bluefin tuna on a blue and white fish Downsea tuna flare with a ballyhoo. With that we switched gears a d went sea bass fishing boxing a limit rather quick. Not a bad opening trip!
