Today we started our day in the Wilmington Canyon looking to get into some action with tunas the first few hours of daylight. Unfortunately there wasn’t much to it and we were one of the lucky few to get a yellowfin at all this morning. Shortly after the right long goes off and we are on a nice blue marlin. After a lot of chasing the fish around in reverse we finally got the release on the 400-500 pound fish. Great show and fun catch!
We worked offshore and got into the warmer, bluer water and worked the edge of the temperature break. Not long after we hooked into a white marlin but somehow got too wrapped and POW. There goes that fish, ouch! Not long after we got hooked into a double header and got both anglers their first white marlin! Then it was silent for a few hours until finally on the left teaser a white marlin came cruising in, and we got an easy bait and switch and another first white marlin!
Very fun day of marlin fishing!!!
