White Marlin Open recap

I ran the 61 Viking Wish You Were Here for the WMO again this year. Day 1 we saw slow fishing catching 3/4 yellowfins in the 40 pound class and never saw a billfish.

Day two we got into epic yellowfin fishing catching at least 15 and released a white marlin. We went to the scales hoping maybe to sneak in a daily tuna but our 54 pounder was beat out by a 60 pounder.

Day 3 we got into a white marlin early and released it. Shortly after we hooked into another white and after 45 minutes we sunk the gaffs in her. 73 incher! We didn’t get another bite the rest of the day. The scales only showed us that the white was 66 lbs so no qualifier. All in all fun tournament as always !
